街角で手売りされているこの雑誌は、ホームレスの人たちの自立を促進するためのもので、売上の一部が彼らの収入になるそうです。4月にしては風が冷たかった今日も、薬局の外で辛抱強く立ち続ける男性を見かけたので、声をかけて一部購入しました。薄いながらに、しっかりした雑誌で、社会的立場の異なる人々の意見を紹介したり、日本と世界の問題提起や情報提供をしてくれています。
The Big Issue
This magazine is sold by homeless people on street corners
to promote their independence. They receive a part of their sales. I saw a man
standing patiently outside of a pharmacy today, when the wind was a little too
cold for April, and spoke to him to purchase a copy. It introduces opinions of
people with different social status and also raises problems and provides
information of Japan and around the world. It is thin as a magazine, yet it is
actually the Big Issue.
