神戸のこの冬は例年よりも寒さが厳しく、去年と同じように暖房を使っていても、何となく冷えます。欧米の寒さ対策の工夫として、出入口の内側にカーテンを付けたり、ドア下のすき間に冷気を防ぐ細長いクッションを置く方法を見かけたことがあります。これらのアイデアを応用して、夜間のみ玄関の内側に突っ張り棒でカーテン布地を床に届くまで吊るすようにしたら、扉の結露がかなり軽減しました。

A little ingenuity
This winter in Kobe is a little colder than those of our regular
years and it does not feel warm enough, although we use the heater in the same
way as last season. I have seen some measures to use during cold weather in
Europe and in the States such as hanging drapery at doorways or using draft
stoppers. I adopted such ideas and have been hanging some curtain fabric at our entrance with
an extension rod to the floor during night time. This is working pretty well to
reduce condensation at the door.
