先日、珍しく日本で竜巻が発生しました。深刻な住宅被害だけでなく、死傷者まで出たそうです。ニュースの映像で形を保ったまま吹き上げられる住宅の屋根を見て、不謹慎ながら、児童文学『オズの魔法使い』を連想してしまいました。

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
We had tornados in Japan the other day, which do not happen very often. There was severe damage of houses and some people got hurt or killed. When I saw a news video of a house-roof in the air keeping its shape, it reminded me of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” a children’s novel.
