カークスビル再び

今回の出張で約3 年ぶりに訪れたミズーリ州カークスビルの町は、相変わらず人々が素朴で温かく、1週間も滞在すればちょっとした住人気分も味わえます。ミーティングに次ぐミーティングで仕事は大変だったけれど、お世話になったB&Bは朝食が美味しくて、毎日励みになりました。いまいち使いこなせなかった新しいスマホは、カメラとして役立ちました。

Kirksville, Again 
I visited Kirksville, Missouri, again for business after almost 3 years and people were as kind and honest as before. The town makes you feel at home if you stay for just a week. My work schedule was tight with one meeting after another, but their breakfast at the B&B was tasty and encouraging every morning. Although I could not make good use of my new smart phone, it worked well as a camera.

バタバタと

今日、エリックが里帰りから帰宅しました。そして明日、私はアメリカに発ちます。ゆっくりとお土産話も聞けないまま、洗濯しながら仕事の書類に目を通したりして、最後までバタバタ…。今月は何だか落ち着かなかったので、来月くらいに少し休みを取らせてもらおうと思います。 

Bustling

Eric came back from his homecoming today and I am leaving for the States tomorrow. I was bustling all evening with one ear listening to his stories and two eyes going over my business papers while taking care of some laundry… Since this has been a restless month for me, I may need to take some time off next month.

スマホ

やっとスマホを購入しました！　人気のSony Xperiaです。月々の料金を抑えるために、以前から使っている携帯電話を通話用、この新しいスマホをネット通信用として、しばらくは2台併用で使うことにしました。色々なアプリ設定があって少し難しいけど、来週の出張までにある程度使いこなせるようになりたいな。 

Smartphone

I finally purchased a smartphone! It is a Sony’s popular model, Xperia. For now, I chose to use 2 phones to save monthly cost; my older phone for calling and this smartphone for internet connection. It looks a bit complicated to set all kinds of applications, but I hope to learn handling it to some extent before my business trip of the next week.

彩り

西宮のショッピングモールで、以前から目をつけていた切子のグラスがセール品になっていたので、最後の４個を買いました。無駄なものは持たないように心掛けていますが、気に入ったもので日々の暮らしに彩りを添えられるのなら、それは無駄ではないように思います。…というのは、衝動買いの言い訳でしょうか？ 

Color

I purchased the last 4 pieces of faceted glasses which were on sale at a shopping mall in Nishinomiya. I had been eyeballing them for a while, actually. It is my policy not to own unnecessary items, but if some items could add a color to daily life, such items must be necessary then. Does this sound like an excuse for my impulsive shopping…?

休暇

エリックが長い夏休みを利用してバッファローに里帰りしています。今回、私が同行しないことにした理由は、5日間の休暇中には身体を休めたいことと、今月後半のアメリカ出張に備えたいと思ったことです。自分のための料理は普段より簡単に済ませながらも、エリックの苦手なキノコや海藻類を楽しんでいます。 

Time to Rest 

Eric is visiting his family in Buffalo using his long summer vacation. I am not accompanying him this time because I want to rest physically during my 5-day vacation and I also want to prepare for a business trip to the States which is scheduled later this month. I have been enjoying mushrooms and seaweeds, neither of which are Eric’s favorite food, while keeping my cooking simpler than usual.
