日本の食材13 たこ


関西で暮らすようになって、以前よりも「粉もん」をよく食べるようになりました。お好み焼きは自宅でも時々作りますが、たこ焼きは丸く作るのが難しそうなので、出先で買うことにしています。先日、来日中のアメリカ人ドクターの夫妻にも、たこ焼きをご紹介しました。奥さんはたこの吸盤が苦手でしたが、味付けは二人とも気に入られたようです。

Japanese food 13 –Octopus
Since we moved to western Japan, we have been eating more “wheaten food” than before. (Western Japan is known for its wheaten food, including Takoyaki, octopus dumplings and Okonomiyaki, which are savory pancakes.) Although I sometimes make Okonomiyaki at home, I buy Takoyaki at stores because it looks difficult to make in its round shape. I introduced this food to an American couple when they came to Japan the other day. The wife did not care for the octopus tentacles, but they both enjoyed the flavor.
