この花を初めて見たのは関西に来てからです。その甘い香りが印象的だったので、自宅でインターネット検索して、クチナシの花だと知りました。ふと、子どもの頃に聴いた歌が頭に浮かびました。確か寂しい感じの歌詞だったと思うけれど、花言葉は「私は幸せ」だそうです。
Gardenia
I saw this flower for the first time after moving to
western Japan. I was impressed with its sweet fragrance and I learned it to be
gardenia using online research at home. It reminded me of an old song which I
had heard in my childhood. The lyric was something melancholic, if I remember
correctly, but the floral language is “I am happy.”
